Behind the work
Every brand stands at a Y
Which road did the brand take — and did anyone choose it?
أيّ طريقٍ سلكته العلامة، وهل اختاره أحد؟

The mark isn't a clever logo trick. The Y is a fork in the road, and every brand we meet is standing at one — usually without realising a choice is being made at all.
When we built Y/DIRECTION, the figure came before the name was settled. Legs that make a Y, a head that makes a D, a single yellow boot mid-step. People read it as a walking person, which it is. But the Y was doing something quieter first: it was a fork.
Stand at a Y and there are two roads. One of them asks why before it moves. The other assumes the brief, picks up speed, and finds out much later that it was the wrong road — by which point turning around is expensive and embarrassing in front of the board.
Direction without inquiry is just movement. Fast movement, often. In the wrong direction, usually.
The boot is a discipline, not a flourish
There is exactly one yellow boot. Not two, not a gradient of them. That restraint is the whole argument made visible: take one deliberate step, in full colour, and commit to it with real craft before you take the next. A brand flooded with tactics isn't moving faster — it's standing at the fork in every direction at once, which is the same as standing still.

This is why our work tends to look quieter than the category expects. The discipline isn't aesthetic minimalism for its own sake — it's the refusal to spend craft on a direction we haven't chosen out loud. The yellow only appears where a real decision is being made.
every brand stands at a Y. most don't notice they're choosing.
So when we say start with Y, it isn't a tagline reaching for the brand name. It's the actual instruction. Find the fork. See it clearly. Then choose — and only then start to walk.
